Jay Sustain is a Dallas-based DJ, producer, and remixer renowned for his dynamic presence in the electronic music scene. As executive producer of the now-retired Undermine Records, he played a pivotal role in shaping the label’s artistic direction and nurturing talent.

Jay served as the resident DJ at the acclaimed Deep Ellum Art Company in Dallas, Texas. His residency positioned him to open for prominent touring acts such as Papadosio, Rubblebucket, Night Drive, Exmag, Drrtywulvz, WuChon (of Turkuaz), David Starfire, Space Kadet, Desert Dwellers, Chali Tuna and others.

Jay Sustain’s music has been featured in film. Notably, his remix of Sasha Lazard’s “Lumiere” was included in the 2017 movie Blind, starring Alec Baldwin and Demi Moore. This track is part of the film’s official soundtrack.

Jay Sustain’s music has garnered support from several well-known DJs in the electronic music scene. Notably, his track “Chronos” received endorsements from prominent artists such as Anthony Pappa, Above & Beyond, Darin Epsilon, Nigel Dawson, and the Flash Brothers . Such recognition highlights the quality and appeal of his productions within the industry.​

Jay’s musical versatility is evident in his diverse projects. In 2005, he launched an electronic music project called Blue Massive, a down-tempo project collaborating with cellist Dave Eggar and other musicians. He is also the founder of Smoking With Strangers, an electronic music act with an edgy and melodic sound.

His discography includes numerous singles and remixes, with releases on labels such as Dissident Music, Dark Pleasure Records, Manuscript Records, BDivision, System Recordings, and Green Martian. Notable works include his self-titled debut album released in 2009 and the “Chronos” EP from 2023.

Jay Sustain continues to influence the Dallas music scene through his performances and ongoing projects, solidifying his reputation as a multifaceted artist in the electronic music community. Jay currently serves as the Program Director at KNON Now, the streaming station of Dallas-based community radio 89.3 FM KNON. He also hosts a weekly show titled Legends & Liner Notes, airing Mondays from 4–6 PM CST on KNON Now.
